Interview skills course comes full circle

After launching an interview skills course for sixth-formers to help students prepare for a career in the NHS, neuro specialist physiotherapist Helen Woollard was delighted to welcome a former course participant to Royal Papworth Hospital on a clinical placement.

Vicky Moffat - a third year physiotherapy student at the University of East Anglia - arrived at the hospital for a six-week placement after being assigned to Helen.

Helen created the course - University interview techniques for Allied Health Professionals - five years ago, aimed primarily at those thinking about careers in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy.

The last course, run by physiotherapist Kath Atkin, attracted 25 students from the region. There are plans to run another course this year.
