Meet the team driving the vision for this bespoke £165million build on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus:
Nigel became the Project Director for New Papworth Hospital in April 2017. He was previously Programme Manager for the PFI project at Broomfield Hospital and has been involved in a number of construction and business systems project roles in healthcare and local authorities. Nigel is an accountant by profession and also a PRINCE2 project management practitioner.
Deputy Project Director
Wendy joined the team in April 2017 as new Deputy Project Director responsible for the delivery Cambridge Transition Programme (CTP) and operational readiness for the move . Wendy moved here from East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust where she delivered a £150m acute consolidation programme in 2015 and more latterly service improvements and strategic projects. She also has extensive NHS experience in leading estates and facilities teams, operational service management and delivering an earlier major PFI construction project in Barnet.
Jacqui was appointed as Project Manager in March 2009. Jacqui is the project lead for Facilities Management and Equipment in the New Hospital. She also assists in the Clinical Design with specific responsibility for Art, Interior Design and Wayfinding.
Jacqui worked previously at West Suffolk Hospital as Capital Planning and Equipment Manager following 20 years as a nurse and ward manager. Jacqui has an MSc in Planning Buildings for Health.
Deputy Project Director
Louise joined the Project Team in January 2007 and was appointed Deputy Project Director in September 2015. Louise was previously head of Capital Project at Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH). Louise is the project lead for Facilities Management and also assists in the Commercial and Campus Interface workstreams.
Clinical Project Manager
Colin was appointed to Papworth as Clinical Project Manager in June 2007. Colin is the project lead for Clinical Design in the New Hospital.
Colin worked previously at Homerton Hospital as Capital Planning Manager following 18 years as an Operating Department Practitioner and Operating Theatre Manager.
Peter joined the Project Team in January 2016 and provides advice and support in relation to clinical and non clinical equipment matters.
He previously worked for over 10 years on the new hospital development in Southmead, Bristol. Peter has a total of over 30 years NHS experience across a variety of roles.
