You can also access other NHS services as normal if you need them.

The British Medical Association (BMA) has announced strike action for resident doctors in June.
There will be a full, four-day walk-out by BMA resident doctors from 07:00 on Monday 15 June 2026 until 06:59 on Friday 19 June 2026.
Patient safety will always be our priority - if you have a loved one in hospital during these dates, they will be cared for safely.
Please attend your appointment
Sometimes, to maintain safety during strikes, we have to re-arrange appointments and procedures.
If your appointment or procedure is postponed, please be reassured that it will be re-scheduled for the earliest possible date.
If you are booked for an appointment or procedure during this time and we have not contacted you, please attend your appointment as planned.
Choose services wisely
If you develop a new health issue, the NHS is asking patients to choose services wisely during industrial action and take simple steps to help ensure care is available to patients who need it most.
These steps include using NHS 111 online as the first port of call for health needs and continuing to only call 999 in a life-threatening emergency.
GP practices will be open during the resident doctors’ strikes. Please continue to attend your GP and dental appointments, unless you are contacted and told otherwise.
Pharmacies will also remain open.
