Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) is the mechanism in NHS trusts to allow and encourage NHS workers to speak up, whistleblow or raise concerns about anything that may get in the way of providing high quality care for patients or adversely impacts staff experience.
All NHS trusts in England must have designated FTSU Guardians.
Our FTSU Guardian is Antonio (Tony) Bottiglieri, who is supported by a network of FTSU champions from across the trust.
The role is to support our staff to speak up on concerns which might include patient safety concerns, fraud, poor practice, bullying or harassment, as well as providing staff with the opportunity to speak up about ideas for improvement.
