Rhys is a qualified advanced clinical practitioner working in the Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (RSSC), where he leads the specialist ventilatory community team. He has served at Royal Papworth Hospital in two periods - initially in 2007 and then returning in 2018. Previously, he was the clinical lead for the physiotherapy team.
With over 20 years of experience in the NHS, Rhys has lived and worked in the East of England for the past 18 years, holding a variety of roles. He has played a key part in shaping the allied health professional (AHP) strategy at Royal Papworth, giving him valuable insight into the development of AHP services and enabling him to represent their interests at governor level.
Now in his second term as a staff governor, Rhys values the opportunity to advocate for his AHP colleagues and contribute to the strategic oversight of the hospital, ensuring all staff voices are considered.
