Car parking charges are in place at Royal Papworth Hospital and are subject to periodic review. Patients and visitors will have to display a parking ticket or appropriate permit. Signs around the hospital show you where patients and visitors may park (‘pay and display’). Charges apply from 0700 to 2000 every day.

As the machines do not give change, ensure you have adequate change. If you find that you do not have change, you will have to make a purchase from either the gift shop or the Garden Restaurant.
Blue badges must be displayed at all times. Spaces are provided close to entrances to the various hospital buildings and are free of charge.
Whippet Coaches Ltd operates regular daytime services from Cambridge and less frequently from St Ives. Services in the evening are infrequent so it is advisable to make enquiries beforehand.

The nearest railway stations are Huntingdon (20 minutes’ from the hospital by road), St Neots (15 minutes) and Cambridge (30 minutes) but the journey will have to be completed by taxi or bus.
If you are travelling to Royal Papworth Hospital for NHS treatment, you may be entitled to help from the hospital with your travel costs, including parking fees. You or your partner (including civil partners) must produce evidence of the car parking ticket and eligibility for any of the following benefits:
Travel costs payable are those ‘necessarily incurred’. This means travel by the cheapest means of transport available at the time you travel.
The type of paid travel costs:
To claim travel costs you or your representative should go to cashiers office in the CTBI building. You must bring with you appropriate documentation (within date) showing your entitlement to have travel costs paid (e.g. benefit book, letter of notification of your entitlement).
If you do not bring evidence of your entitlement you will not be refunded on the day. You will have to claim a refund using a HC5(T) form, which will have to send to the appropriate benefit office.

If you need someone to travel with you for medical reasons, you may also get help with your 'escort' costs, providing you are entitled to help with your own costs.
To obtain 'escort' costs, an escort stencil which can be obtained from the Reimbursement Office (next to main reception) or by ringing 01480 364276.
Escort costs are only payable on the completion of this form, signed by a senior nurse or doctor on the ward.
