Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Trust is dedicated to supporting staff members in developing innovative ideas that can results in improvements to patients care.
The activity of innovation will result in production of such information or ideas which then become intellectual property (IP) of the person or the organisation that have produced it, for example, leaflets and novel validated questionnaires. The NHS is responsible for managing its intellectual property assets. The Royal Papworth Hospital intellectual property policy describes the ownership and management arrangements for IP emanating from the Trust. As recognition and reward for creative energy and innovation the Trust will usually grant employees who create commercially exploitable IP a majority share in revenue received from that IP.
