Royal Papworth Hospital employs a small team of social workers and discharge co-ordinators to provide practical and emotional support to patients.
The team can arrange rehabilitative care or social care on discharge for patients who require support with personal care after leaving hospital. The Team prioritises providing help and support to patients at risk of abuse or those who have additional needs.
Our social workers can give advice on a wide range of social issues for patients and their families at the hospital. This may include referral to other agencies such as the Citizen's Advice Bureau or other advice organisations.
The Social Work team is available between 0900 and 1600, Monday to Friday (except bank holidays).
