Trainee Surgical Care Practitioner

Trainee Cardiothoracic Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) - Band 6

Full Time (37.5 hours per week) + on-call

We are looking for dynamic Registered Health Care Professionals to join our expanding SCP team. Successful candidates will undertake a full two year internal training program and the MSc in Surgical Care Practice at Anglian Ruskin University along with the ACTSCP exam on the completion of training. This National Qualification, along with the MSc and internal training program with enable the development of the skills & competencies required while performing operative procedures under the direction of Consultant Surgeons. The training program will also develop the skills required to assist in all aspects of pre, peri and post-operative care of the patient. We will support you to achieve your potential by offering you a programme of development from experienced Theatre staff and dedicated SCP Educators.

Ward Clerk - Critical Care (Band 2)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Critical Care Department (CCA) at Royal Papworth Hospital. The role involves following departmental standard operating procedures to provide a patient focused, high quality, efficient and complete administrative support service. The position will be based at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge Biomedical Campus

We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to join our team of Ward Clerks on the Critical Care Department on a Full-time/Part-time basis. We are ideally looking for one full-time and one part-time; although we are flexible and can accommodate two part-time workers, subject to Service needs. Our working day is from 08.00 to 20.00 over 365 days a year - the working day is split into early and late shifts with some weekend and Bank Holiday working.

The key duties of the role will be supporting patients, visitors and the Critical Care team by providing a consistent, co-ordinated and flexible clerical and reception service; you must be able to multi skill whilst ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard. This rewarding role requires a positive outlook and the ability to work within a demanding environment, displaying empathy whilst maintaining a professional approach.

For this role you will need to have excellent communication skills. You will also need good keyboard skills and an aptitude for using a variety of IT systems. A degree of flexibility with your working hours and the ability to support some evening/weekend shifts would be required. You will also need to work as part of a team and play an important part in providing administrative support to the department. The post holder should be able to deliver good customer service and have the confidence and experience to deal with general enquires and telephone calls.

Clerical duties require diligence to ensure patient data is recorded efficiently, confidentially and accurately.

As a Ward Clerk in the Critical Care Department you are often the first point of contact for visiting families, these duties will require tact and diplomacy in a busy department.

After an initial training period you will be working with minimal supervision so candidates must be able to use their own initiative. Previous Ward Clerk experience and knowledge of patient databases is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Critical Care Pharmacist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and patient-centred senior clinical pharmacist, to join the Critical Care Pharmacy Team at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The post-holder will be responsible for co-leading, developing and managing the critical care pharmacy service, working closely and collaboratively with both the wider Critical Care Pharmacy Team and other multi-disciplinary teams to deliver excellent patient-centred care,

Royal Papworth’s 46 bedded Critical Care unit is one of the largest and busiest in the region, with state of the art facilities, we are able to provide outstanding compassionate and holistic care to our patients.

As a tertiary referral centre we look after some of the sickest patients who are referred to us for a variety of specialist services such as our ECMO (extra corporeal membrane oxygenation) service, heart and lung transplant and PCI pathway. Working in this environment is challenging and rewarding in equal amounts.

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and compassionate pharmacist who has vision, excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.  Prior experience of Critical Care Pharmacy is essential.

You will be required to participate in the departmental, weekend, bank holiday, late evening and emergency duty rota as part of this role.
