How long have you worked at Royal Papworth Hospital?

Since 2017.

What do you do?

As a Cardiac Physiologist, my job involves the diagnosis and treatment of adults with heart disease. A large part of my job role takes place in the catheter labs assisting a multidisciplinary team with angiograms and angioplasty procedures, or pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, including follow-ups, making sure that the programming is appropriate for each patient.

What’s your favourite part of your job?

I have always had a passion for helping people and felt drawn to cardiology in particular. Understanding heart physiology and its response to a whole range of factors is fascinating and challenging at the same time. Each patient is different, which makes you develop and learn new skills. No two days are the same. There are a wide range of cardiac tests, which means the job is full of variety.
