Helen applied to be a governor as an opportunity to support the trust as thanks for the care provided to herself and a family member. Since the 1990s, Helen has been under the care of Royal Papworth’s lung defence clinic.

She has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge and worked for several years in medical research before moving into the field of education.

Before retiring, Helen was a director at Cambridge University Press and Assessment where she had strategic overview of the development of international curricula and assessments; and was responsible for setting standards for GCSE and A levels for an exam board.

She has also acted as Chair, trustee, and treasurer across three charities.
