Eilish Midlane, Chief Executive of Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, has been appointed to the board of the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) charity.
EAAA helicopters are one of several air ambulances that regularly use the Cambridge Biomedical Campus helipad outside our hospital, playing their part in treating patients across the east of England.

Speaking about this voluntary role, Eilish said: “I am incredibly proud to have been selected to be a trustee for East Anglian Air Ambulance.
"My teams at Royal Papworth deliver care at the extreme end of the clinical care for patients with heart and lung conditions, and I am in awe that our East Anglian Air Ambulance clinical teams deliver high level critical care at the incident scene.
"My hope is that I will be able to make a meaningful contribution to East Anglian Air Ambulance going from strength to strength moving forward."
