Our Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) service is one of seven adult centres that are commissioned to provide the UK National Pulmonary Hypertension Service. Our unit adheres to the latest service specifications and standards of care for PH set out by NHS England, providing specialised care for patients with pulmonary hypertension and other pulmonary vascular diseases.

Our multidisciplinary team provides an integrated package of care including assessment, diagnosis, education, long-term management and support. We are committed to evidence-based practice and follow up-to-date guidelines. Our goal is to provide every patient referred to the unit with the knowledge, skills and treatment options necessary to ensure the best possible long-term outcomes for this condition.

In order to provide services and support closer to the patient’s home, our PH service has developed a shared care network with the following hospitals: Coventry University Hospital, Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

We work closely with Royal Papworth’s Transplant, Grown Up Congenital Heart (GUCH) and Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD) services, having developed joint PVDU/GUCH and PVDU/ILD clinics. We collaborate with the Department of Rheumatology and Liver Disease from Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
