Book your booster
To support the national COVID-19 vaccination programme and rollout of booster doses to eligible people aged 18 and over, we have re-opened our vaccination hub at Royal Papworth Hospital from Thursday 16 December 2021.
The latest scientific data shows the importance of the booster jab to give yourself the best protection against serious illness, hospitalisation or death from COVID-19. Please don’t delay and get your booster now to protect yourself, friends and family.
Please remember to bring your NHS number and do not attend your appointment if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, flu, or diarrhoea and vomiting.
Book your COVID-19 vaccination appointment
Key information ahead of your appointment
- Our hub is available for bookings only. We do not have capacity for walk-ins. Please book your appointment via the national COVID-19 vaccination booking service.
- We are administering the Pfizer vaccine. You can receive the Pfizer vaccine even if you have had a different vaccine previously.
- We are primarily offering booster jabs (which you can have 91 days after your second dose but are available to book 61 days after your second dose). We can also administer your first or second jab if you have not yet had it and are eligible. Please book via the national NHS booking system.
- Our vaccination hub is on-site at Royal Papworth Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CB2 0AY), in our ‘orangery’ at the side of the hospital (next to our duck pond). It has its own entrance; you do not need to come into the hospital. Someone will be on hand to help if you need showing where to go.
- We have bicycle parking and car parking spaces available – use postcode CB2 0AY or using.improving.manage on what3words.
- Please arrive on time. Because appointments are arranged through the national NHS booking system, if you are late we cannot guarantee that we will be able to offer you another slot and you may be required to re-book.
- Do not forget your NHS number – you will need this for the paperwork and to ensure your jab is added to your NHS record.
- Please do not attend your appointment if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, flu, or diarrhoea and vomiting.
- Please also do not arrive too early as we have limited space for waiting.
- You will not be able to access our restaurant or shop. This is because we are limiting footfall in our hospital to protect our patients and staff.
- Please come unaccompanied wherever possible. This includes partners and children. Assistance will be available on site for those who require it. Please let security know your requirements and we will aim to support you with these.
- You will be required to wear a surgical mask while on site. These are more effective than face coverings and offer everyone a high level of protection. We can provide one at our hub if you do not have one.
- Please make sure to check the weather and dress appropriately. All our slots are pre-booked so we do not envisage people needing to wait outside for long periods of time, but please be prepared just in case.
- When you arrive, a member of our team will take your details, run through some paperwork with you and then, providing there are no questions, administer your vaccination.
- Your jab will be added to the national system and will show on your NHS record. The upload to the NHS app is done centrally (not by the Trust) and might take a few days to update.
- Please be polite and courteous to our staff. They are here to help you.
- If you can no longer attend, please cancel your appointment so that it can be offered to someone else.
