This role combines working as a Healthcare Support Worker on Critical Care and studying to become a Registered Nurse with Anglia Ruskin University.
Nursing Apprentices will spend the first 3 months working full-time as a Healthcare Support Worker while they complete the National Care Certificate.
They will then study the Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship one day per week for 20 months either attending University or as a student in Critical Care. The remaining hours for that week will be spent working clinical shifts as a Healthcare Support Worker.
On successful completion of the Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship apprentices will then progress to the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship which will be studied on average two days per week for 22 months. The remaining hours will be spent working as a Healthcare Support Worker.
On successful completion of the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship apprentices will be able to apply for Nursing registration, gain a place on the NMC register and apply for roles as a Band 5 Registered Nurse.
