On Wednesday we celebrated World Blood Donor Day in the Atrium. Every year countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day (WBDD). The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.
It gave us the opportunity to show how blood is used in research and how the public can help researchers improve their research. We were joined by Cambridge BRC, BioResource, Cambridge CRF, Blood and Transplant Research (BTRU) in Donor Health and Behaviour and Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) marks World Blood Donor Day.
