Insight Programmes

Here at Royal Papworth we offer a selection of programmes to help provide pupils with further insight into some of the work at our hospital.

These are one-day opportunities for sixth form students within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area to experience specific areas of our work.

They involve talks from subject experts in their fields about what their work entails, their own career journey and other information about the many different roles available in their own departments and across our hospital.

What insight programmes do we run?

Are you interested in a career in medicine, specifically cardiology?

Your Heart Hospital is a programme is designed for students wanting to pursue a career in medicine.

In this one-day experience you will meet leading clinicians, with lectures in the morning and then the opportunity to obtain practical skills in the afternoon.

Are you looking to pursue a career in NHS finance? This is perfect for anyone wanting to gain an insight into accountancy as a profession and develop administrative skills.

Are you wanting to build up your CV ahead of applying for medical school? Designed for students, this programme you will be shown how to complete an application, have taster interviews and go on the wards shadowing consultants and registrars in their field.
